Make Healthy Choices


 

Stress Management: Stress often comes from the habit of worrying. “Worrying does not empty today of its problems, only robs tomorrow of its strengths,” understanding this is the first step of managing stress. It is a mindset that can be controlled through awareness and discipline of healthy mental habits.

Move your body: Instead of pushing you to “exercise” which has the stigma of stressfully working out, we invite you to move your body with fun activities that are fun. Go on hikes, swim, dance, walk, just move your body and have fun while you’re doing it.

Food choices: The quality of food out weight quantity. You are what you eat.  Choosing to eat processed and in nutritious foods will have long term negative effects on your body. Make the choice to spend a little more to get high quality organic, clean, pure foods for long term benefits.

How you eat: In addition to the food choices, how we eat our food is very important. Make time to eat meals in a positive environment with family and friends Eat on a consistent schedule and DO eat, avoid skipping meals and mindfully nourish your body.

Express yourself: Most emotional illnesses and stress stems from the inability or lack of self-expression. The quickest and healthiest way to heal is to express your emotions through verbal conversations, art, dance, or whatever brings you joy. Holding in feelings is an infection that only gets worst until you heal the wound by expressing it.

Do more of what makes you happy: Life is about experiences. To be happy you must create new opportunities, make new friends, do new activities, keep life interesting. We often times get consumed with work and the daily struggle, it is important to make time to do things that bring you joy. If you enjoy reading, then read. If you enjoy cooking, then cook. If you don’t know what makes you happy, explore until you do
