Sarah Rutherford, CMP

Certified Massage Therapist located in San Jose, CA

Meet Sarah

Hello and welcome! I am your new massage therapist and would like to provide some of my background to introduce myself. I have been working as a massage therapist for those with chronic pain, recovery, and sports injuries for four years. I have worked on over hundreds of bodies with deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, and scar tissue work. My deepest areas of training are in plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder syndrome, sciatica, whiplash, carpal tunnel, and chronic muscle pain. I work with opposite ends of the spectrum – from healthy functioning athletes who need their bodies in peak condition and performance to pervasive and sensitive pain that requires special touch in autoimmune conditions such as multiple  sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.

I am certified as a massage therapist through Healing Arts Institute and Davis Massage Institute where I studied massage with an emphasis on deep tissue, sports massage, and myofascial therapy. I also come from a background in rehabilitative sciences from Sacramento State University where I received education in muscle rehabilitation and pain relief with manual therapy. I am currently working towards my doctorate of chiropractic and attend multiple seminars and continuing education in both massage, manual therapy, and physical therapy to incorporate effective techniques into my skill set to help my clients relieve their pain. My intention in my practice is to provide maximum relief to your body in your therapy treatments.
