What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is a method of connecting you with your extended health care practitioner virtually to help you achieve your health goals without the traditional in-office visit format.  Typically with telehealth, our practitioners will take down your health complaints, advise you on things you will need to do at home, come up with a treatment plan customized for you, and then order any necessary herbal and nutritional products sent directly to your home address.  A follow-up telehealth appointment is recommended 4-5 days following the first-visit to make sure everything is going well as planned and implement any necessary modifications as needed.

The basic setup involves a computer or other device equipped with a camera, speaker, and microphone. You’ll also need an internet connection to be able to connect with your practitioner. Please do a check-up on the device prior to your appointment to make sure the sound and/or camera on your device is working properly so that no time is wasted on trying to figure out how to use the equipment during the call.

After you book your telehealth appointment, you’ll receive a link via email to the meeting room where you will be meeting your practitioner for your virtual consult.  Your practitioner will also email you a fillable health history questionnaire form that you can fill out in advance. Please remember to email the HH form back to your practitioner prior to the telehealth appointment.

One of the most important things you can do to prepare for a telehealth visit is to create a space for your visit to take place. Identify an area of your home or office where there is plenty of light, a stable surface to place your device, and access to an electrical outlet.   Please make sure there is no distraction or interruption to your visit. Be prepared to share any details about your health history as well as any medications or supplements you are taking. This can be done in a separate sheet and emailed to your practitioner in advance.
