About Melanie Trelles Pardo

Melanie Trelles Pardo is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, with a deep love for health and nature. Melanie was lucky to have grown up in the Bay Area where she was exposed to mindfulness practices and qi gong classes from the age of 9. She began her formal studies in holistic health modalities during her undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University, where she obtained a B.S. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Natural Resource Management. There she was introduced to Chinese medicine, Ayurveda and the psychobiology of stress and self-regulatory methods, but really fell in love with sensible connection Chinese medicine brought to the body, mind, and spirit.

In 2014 she decided to dive into Chinese medicine and Asian Systems through acupressure massage at McKinnon Institute in Oakland. Melanie decided to pursue her passion and left the Bay Area to study Chinese medicine in Portland, at one of the top schools in the country. There she received her Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2018. Melanie is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture and licensed to practice in the state of California.

Melanie implements acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, bodywork and nutrition in her practice to support healthy circulation in the body. She helps to facilitate the body as it returns to its natural state of equilibrium, where it is able to heal and strengthen with ease. She encourages her patients to be active participants in their health and joy, and does the same for herself through dance, hiking, outdoor adventures with friends, yoga and tea.
